Saturday Post

Wow it was hot today but that was okay as we were on the water all day sailing Picos and funboats in the morning and cats and windsurfers in the afternoon. After dinner we had our snorkel training ready for visiting the marine nature reserve at Tossa del Mar tomorrow.

This will be our last post as tomorrow will be very busy with our departure set for 5.00pm.

Friday

In the morning we woke up a bit later than usual which was very nice! We had breakfast and went straight out to the water park. It was so huge and all the rides were so much fun! One of our favourites was when you stood in a pod and the floor dropped from below you and you shot down the almost-vertical slide. The waterpark was so big that we almost ran out of time to go on all the rides. They were all really fun and we could of stayed there later. Once we left we had tea and we are going to go shopping later in the evening before we go to the disco - that should be really fun, but we'll be glad to go to sleep after the most exhausting day yet!

Thursday Post

After waking up for a very early breakfast, we took the coach down to Palamos Beach where we got ready for more sailing. Half of us sailed picos (similar to the toppers we rode yesterday) and the other half rode fun-boats. It wasn't the best day for sailing  as there was a lack of wind so we took part in some games on the boats which involved jumping in the water! We then went to shore where we were treated to a delicious buffet lunch. Afterwards we played a competitive game of beach volleyball (straw hats vs canvas hats!). Next we split in half again to go on the stand up paddle boards and catamaran boats. On the catamarans we hung off trapezes and a few of us had to hang on so we didn't fall in and get left behind!! Meanwhile on the paddle boats a competition was being held to keep our cutlery for dinner - many of us ended up trying to eat pasta with just a knife!! Now there's a game of football going on while some girls practise for the talent show on Saturday!!

Wednesday Update

The journey

Apart from having to squat over "French toilets"  ( which was an eventful experience to say the least!) the journey flew by for most of us with "plenty of quality sleep". We arrived on time with no hitches and arrived at 9 am on a sunny Spanish morning.

Day 1 (day of arrival)

As soon as we got here we met met our group leader, Kazza and our "groupies" Monty and Chloe who are all mental but lovely and they gave us a tour of the site. It's fantastic! We were treated to a luxurious breakfast, were allotted our tents and then we had to do a routine check that we could all swim with buoyancy aids- luckily we were all fine. We spent the rest of day having fun and playing games at the beach,  and then had our evening activity which consisted of dressing team members in scrap items and then getting messy in flour, water and yoghurt- oh dear!

Day 2 ( Tuesday )

After a considerable lie-in, everyone walked to Castells beach to take part in a day of canoeing and kayaking. The teachers made sure that we were all smothered in sun cream and drinking enough water for a camel! ( so no need to worry about sunstroke! ) Some of us got the chance to explore a cave and do some cliff jumping ( don't worry ; not too high ). We also did some races in the kayaks which brought out everyone's competitive side. When we got back in the evening we went for a quick dip and then had our evening activity- robot war! Then we went to the on-site disco- everyone had a wonderful time on the dance floor, especially when the Cha Cha Slide came on! After a fairly full-on evening we then all jumped into bed for a good night's sleep.

Day 3 (Wednesday)

A quick breakfast, then a quick coach journey to Playa De-oro for some banana-boating. No-one managed to stay on the whole time though, not even Mr Cox! We were all tossed into the sea a fair few times before we quickly dried off, jumped back onto the coach and drove off to Palamos beach, where we all had a nice spot of lunch before some sailing. We were in toppers and (almost) everyone picked it up very quickly. We only had one person fall in! We're now off to the disco again for some more partying, hope you're all enjoying the English weather, we're sure you're all lovely and tanned. We'll keep you updated, see you soon!
